New Princethorpe Admissions Team Gears Up For September 2024 Entry

Princethorpe has a new Admissions Team gearing up to help families who are interested in entry to the College for September 2024 and beyond.

Catherine Rogers is our new Registrar, having been promoted to the role in July. Catherine will be a familiar face to many families, she has been a longstanding member of the Admissions Team and has a wealth of knowledge and experience of the Princethorpe admissions cycle. Joining her is new Assistant Registrar, Marie Holt, who is no stranger to the Foundation either, having previously worked as a receptionist at Crackley Hall School.

The friendly pair have plenty in common, not least their shared public service backgrounds; Catherine was a midwife in the NHS for 18 years and Marie a Warwickshire police officer for 25 years, with their calm, unflappable natures they are both well equipped to cope with the busy period ahead.

The last few weeks has seen the duo dealing with new Lower Sixth joiners post GCSE Results Day, our Year 7 Activity Day and of course helping to ensure a smooth start to term for the next generation of Princethorpians.

Comments Catherine, “We are really looking forward to our first Open Event together, which promises to be an exciting one as we will be welcoming visitors into the brand, new state-of-the-art Science Centre at our Open Afternoon on Sunday 17 September.”

To get in touch with Catherine and Marie, email admissions@princethorpe.co.uk or call 01926 634201/297, they will be happy to help.

Princethorpe College Celebrates Excellent Public Examination Results

Princethorpe College is celebrating another year of excellent exam results.

112 students sat A-level and BTEC examinations and completed the Extended Project Qualification this summer. In one of our strongest years to date, 70% of all grades were A*- B, with more than a third being A*- A. Impressively, 17 high-flyers achieved three or more A* or A grades.

At GCSE Princethorpe pupils also performed well, from a cohort of 159 pupils, 42% of all entries were the coveted 9, 8 or 7 grades, with 16 pupils achieving all 9, 8 or 7 grades.

Grove du Toit, Headmaster, commented, "We are delighted with the excellent results that our Sixth Form students and Year 11 pupils have achieved against a backdrop of unprecedented challenges over the last few years. Their results reflect their hard work and perseverance, all credit goes to our pupils and staff for their commitment, collaboration and hard work."

He continued, "We are proud of their academic achievements, but all these pupils have many other fine qualities: kindness, respect and a strong sense of right and wrong, which will be tremendously important for them as they move on to the next phase of their lives. We congratulate them all on their well-deserved success."

A Gold And A Bronze At The English Schools Athletics Nationals

Five Princethorpe College pupils were selected to compete for the Warwickshire Schools Team at the English Schools Athletics National Championships in Birmingham in July. It was such a fantastic achievement for these pupils to have been chosen for this national event, but to have five athletes reaching the standard was super exciting for us all here at Princethorpe College. We were incredibly proud of them all.

Year 11, Ben Smith, Year 10, André Onyekwe, Year 10, Olivia Monk, Year 9, Grace McCollin and Year 9, Penelope Jones competed in the Inter Boys 1500m Steeplechase, Inter Boys High Jump, Inter Girls 100m, Junior Girls 75m Hurdles and in a new event the Junior Girls Mixed Relay. Grace ran an outstanding race to claim the Gold medal in the 75m Hurdles while André soared over the bar to take Bronze in the High Jump.

We were hugely impressed with their commitment and dedication to their sports. These young people really were up there with the top athletes in the country for their events and we are looking forward to seeing them achieve more athletics success next year.

The Warwickshire team had one of their most successful championships for many years and it was fantastic to see Princethorpe College pupils playing their part in the team’s success.

Five Year 10 Pupils Awarded Gold In The Junior Physics Challenge

This year, 62 Year 10 pupils competed in the British Physics Olympiad Junior Challenge, an online competition where pupils answer multiple-choice questions across two tests in just 50 minutes. The Junior Physics Challenge is designed to engage and stretch pupils by offering a range of problems to solve. It allows pupils to apply their curriculum knowledge of physics practically, while taking part in a competition at a national level. It is the first opportunity GCSE pupils have to participate in a British Physics Olympiad event.

Pupils' results were, once again, excellent this year, so a huge well done to all who took part. Particular congratulations go to Zach Hawkins who was the top performing pupil from the school, Zach achieved a Gold certificate, along with Anna Johnson, Jesse Esler, Amelia Chard and Theo Sparkes. Pupils at the College were also awarded 14 Silver, 41 Bronze and two Commendation certificates.

Dan Lee, Head of Physics, said, "Congratulations to all the participants, it was great to see our Year 10 pupils engaging with such enthusiasm in the Junior Physics Challenge."

Super South Africa Sports Tour 2023

At the start of the summer holidays the College enjoyed a successful 16-day sports tour to South Africa. Taking our largest squad ever, of some 123 pupils and 16 staff, playing four sports, Rugby, Football, Netball and Hockey, the tour travelled to Johannesburg and then on to Cape Town, Pretoria and Pilanesberg for a fortnight full of keenly contested matches and spectacular sight-seeing.

During the tour the Rugby, Football, Netball and boys’ and girls’ Hockey teams participated in five full days of good spirited and competitive training and matches against school and club teams. Our South African hosts were so hospitable, and the training and matches were great experiences for all, with valuable lessons learnt both on and off the field.

Away from the sports field, the tour offered participants the chance to broaden their horizons with sightseeing and educational experiences that included the history of South Africa with tours of Soweto and the Apartheid Museum and a visit to Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated. Pupils also took part in an eye-opening tour of Cape Town’s oldest back township and get up close and personal with the wildlife in game drives at Pilanesberg Game Reserve. The tour party all enjoyed the spectacular scenery of Table Mountain in Cape Town and the charming costal town of Hout Bay.

Lee Cassell, Director of Sport, and leader of the tour, said, “South Africa is a truly stunning country, passionate and fiercely competitive in their sport. We have had an excellent trip and played some inspiring matches and I know that our Princethorpe pupils will have returned home with a truly wonderful set of memories.”

Our thanks go to all of the staff involved in putting together and running such an impressive trip. We look forward to the experiences translating into positive results on the pitches over the coming season.

Princethorpe's Girls Are Choosing Computer Science

Increasing numbers of girls at Princethorpe College are choosing to study Computer Science to learn the skills necessary for them to create new technologies. Thirteen girls opted to study Computer Science in Year 9 this academic year, recognising the subject as an interesting and viable career option.

Those who choose to study Computer Science at Princethorpe College are very successful at it, with girls currently studying the subject on track to achieve outstanding grades in their Computer Science GCSE and A-level courses. Pictured are some of the girls choosing to study Computer Science with Computer Science Subject Ambassador, Chris Lock.

Computer Science is a core part of the Year 7 and Year 8 curriculum, with the department team providing a positive environment where girls and boys are encouraged to develop computational thinking skills and learn how to code. The Computer Science department works hard to promote the subject to girls by actively championing female role models for the subject, such as computer scientists Grace Hopper and Margaret Hamilton. The Computer Science teachers network girls interested in the subject and provide lunchtime and after school opportunities for all pupils to learn more.

Head of Computer Science, Edward Musson, says, “Through positive exposure and targeted encouragement, we are seeing an increase in the number of girls opting to study Computer Science and develop in demand programming skills. Our older girls are great role models for the younger years, helping to breakdown stereotypes and show that girls at Princethorpe achieve at the highest level. In Year 10, three of our top four attaining pupils studying Computer Science are girls.”

It’s fantastic to see girls embracing the opportunities Computer Science provides - learning skills to enable successful 21st century information technology careers.

Four Princethorpe Pupils Awarded LAMDA Grade 8 Gold Medals

Four Princethorpe College pupils, Alexandra Bonsall, Mitchell Endenburg, Grace Isaacs and James Maclean, have all achieved distinction in their London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) Grade 8 Gold Medal examinations.

Year 11 pupil, Alexandra Bonsall, Lower Sixth Form student, Grace Isaacs, and Upper Sixth Form student, James Maclean, all sat the LAMDA Grade 8 Acting examination while Upper Sixth Form student, Mitchell Endenburg took his Grade 8 Public Speaking examination.

Gold is the highest medal awarded by LAMDA and takes years of training to achieve, and receiving a distinction in their LAMDA Gold Medal examinations also means that all four pupils accrued 30 extra UCAS points towards their university applications.

Lead LAMDA Teacher, Kathy Buckingham-Underhill, commented, "I am delighted to see these four young people completing their LAMDA studies on such a high. Congratulations to them all. Their hard work, diligence, perseverance and commitment have been amply rewarded. Their LAMDA teachers are incredibly proud of them all."

A huge well done to all four pupils on a really impressive achievement.

Princethorpe Pupils Complete Their Duke Of Edinburgh's Awards Expeditions

In the second half of the Trinity Term, Princethorpe pupils completed their Duke of Edinburgh's Award Qualifying Expeditions. Unaccompanied and self-sufficient, they trekked and camped their way across Snowdonia (17 Gold), the Peak District (49 Silver) and the Cotswolds (95 Bronze), working together in teams to achieve their expedition objectives.

Recognised as the world’s leading youth achievement award, the Duke of Edinburgh's Awards provide young people with the opportunity to get involved, explore new interests, discover talents and make new friends and they are a big part of life here at Princethorpe.

Will Bower, Head of Outdoor Education, said, “I am very proud that so many of Princethorpe’s pupils embrace the challenge of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award. They take the opportunity to develop skills and try new experiences, pushing themselves both mentally and physically to live up to the College’s ethos and be the best they can be and all with such commitment and enthusiasm.”

Princethorpe’s Police Department Solve The Crime Scene Challenge

What a finale we had to the co-curricular Forensic Science Club.

Over the course of the Trinity Term, the Year 8 crime scene investigator trainees had been kept busy learning all about different forensic science techniques, from fingerprinting and blood splatter analysis to footprint evidence and soil samples, as well as learning how to process a crime scene and handwriting analysis.

After a body was found in the cellars, our fabulous forensic scientists were called upon to investigate, reviewing witness statements, examining the crime scene and collecting and analysing evidence. The pupils donned their protective clothing and set off to search the school for evidence. There was plenty to find, as the careless criminals had left many, many clues! It was a deadly mystery, but Year 8 were more than up for the challenge.

Science Teacher, Sam Curtis, was impressed by them all, commenting, “All Princethorpe’s trainee forensic scientists passed their assessment with flying colours, piecing together the evidence to solve the mystery and recover the stolen diamonds. They certainly weren’t fooled by all the double crossing going on.”

Well done to all the super-sleuthing scientists who took part!

More House Victorious At College Sports Day

The College’s annual Sports Day took place on Friday 16 June, and it was a fantastic morning of friendly, but fiercely competitive sport. Field and track events took place simultaneously, so the playing fields were action-packed from the moment the starting gun fired. College staff were kept busy measuring, timing and recording all the running, jumping and throwing taking place.

The temperatures were sizzling, and the performances were too, as pupils and staff cheered all the competitors on. Everyone was hoping that their House would be victorious but, in the end, it was More House who claimed victory for the second year on the trot.

Our very own Clare Baldings, aka Mrs White and Mrs Allen were kept busy announcing all the races and interviewing the winners, adding to the excitement of the event.

Foundation Director of Sport, Lee Cassell, said, “It was another super Sports Day with plenty of excellent performances and lots of new College records set. The atmosphere was incredible, pupils were very supportive of each other, appreciating every individual effort and there was very little in it at the end.”

Huge thanks to all the staff and Sports Leaders involved in organising the event.

Year 7 Visit National Space Centre

29 pupils from Year 7 visited the National Space Centre in Leicester on Tuesday 20 June to recognise their effort and achievement in Science.

Their visit began with a live Science Show It Is Rocket Science that looked at propulsion in space, with a good dose of Newton’s Laws of Motion, explosions and fire thrown in too. Pupils then toured the galleries, completing a discovery trail on the solar system, comets and mathematics. Before taking part in a workshop titled Our Earth Under Threat where they worked together in teams to assess the threat of an approaching asteroid. They used the Torino Scale, data for the probability of impact and for kinetic energy, to decide what action to take.

After a lunch break, Year 7 pupils enjoyed the planetarium show Astronaut Education. It was a rollercoaster ride that began inside the bloodstream of an astronaut in a rocket on the launchpad as the countdown to take off commenced. The experience simulated the physiological response of the body to extreme stress and environmental conditions, such as g-force. It then showed a panoramic look at space from the perspective of an astronaut in a low Earth orbit, followed by insights into a series of gruelling training tasks to conquer in order to qualify to take part in a mission into space.

It was a fantastic day and staff were impressed with Year 7's excellent engagement in all the activities. A great trip enjoyed by them all.

In more complex cases or if the panel has specific questions a meeting with one of our SEND Team will be arranged by the Registrars. Please ensure the Registrars receive your registration in good time, to enable this important review to take place.

Parents will be notified prior to the Entrance Examinations Day of the nature of any access arrangements granted or reasonable adjustments to be made.

All candidates for Year 7-9 entry also sit a 50 minute online assessment which includes Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning and Numerical Reasoning, appropriate to their age and year of entry. Year 10 candidates will take a paper reasoning assessment. More information is available under the relevant age group information.

The online assessment is provided by Durham University’s Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring (CEM). The test is designed to enable all children to demonstrate their academic potential without the need for excessive preparation.

For more information on the online assessment please visit the CEM website at:

https://plus.cem.org/cemselectfam/

(If you experience difficulties opening this link please try Internet Explorer.)

There are no practice papers available for the online assessment. CEM advises parents that children can best prepare for their online assessment by learning to work quietly on their own, completing homework set by their school, and by reading and making sure they understand all the words in any books they read. Children should also, wherever possible, be encouraged to try to solve problems by looking things up for themselves. Children should be familiar with using a keyboard and a mouse including the ability to click, drag and slide with a mouse.

A copy of a past English paper is included in the prospectus pack. We do not provide Mathematics practice papers.

Sixth Form Admissions

Sixth Form Admissions 2024

The Sixth Form at Princethorpe offers great choice, quality teaching in small classes, a vast array of sporting, co-curricular, leadership and service opportunities coupled with excellent pastoral care and guidance, tailored to the needs of today's young adults.

Sixth Formers at Princethorpe are fortunate to have a dedicated Sixth Form Centre, featuring a Dining Room, Coffee Bar, Lecture Theatre, Common Room and a Sixth Form Resource Area and Library for their use.

The Sixth Form admissions process for 2024 will follow the same timings as in previous years. Admissions for Sixth Form are focused in the spring term following GCSE mocks, though we would encourage all prospective Sixth Formers and their parents to attend our Sixth Form Open Evening on Wednesday 18 October 2023 from 6.30pm to 9.00pm

This is an ideal opportunity to get a feel for the breadth of Sixth Form life at Princethorpe and to meet and talk with members of staff and current Sixth Formers about A-level and BTEC subject choices.

Following the Sixth Form Open Evening external Year 11 candidates can attend a Sixth Form Taster Day, which are offered in December and January. These are informal opportunities for small groups of prospective Sixth Formers to visit the College for a selection of A-level/BTEC subject taster lessons, a Q&A session with current Sixth Formers, lunch, a tour of school and a chance to meet the Head of Sixth Form. If you would be interested in joining us for one of these days, please email admissions@princethorpe.co.uk.

Princethorpe is an 11 to 18 school, and the expectation is that pupils will continue with us through to Sixth Form, providing they meet the academic requirements and embrace the College’s ethos. Princethorpe Year 11s are not required to reapply for Sixth Form, however a term’s notice in writing is required should a pupil not be intending to return.

Admission to the Sixth Form is based on satisfactory GCSE results, with the addition of an informal interview for external candidates. The minimum academic requirement for Sixth Form is six GCSEs at grades 9-5, including at least three grade 6s or equivalent. Students are normally expected to have at least a grade 6 in the subject to be studied to A-level, although specific requirements apply for some subjects please click here to see full requirements.

External candidates are required to complete a registration form along with provisional options for A-levels/BTECs. The deadline for Sixth Form registrations and Sixth Form Scholarships is Monday 22 January 2024.

Following satisfactory references from the student’s current school, the Admission Panel will meet and, if appropriate, a conditional offer will be made subject to actual GCSE grades. Confirmation of acceptance from a parent with £300 deposit is then required to secure the place. This deposit is refunded after the end of the final term which the pupil spends at Princethorpe.

Sixth Form offers and Scholarship offers, along with confirmation of subject choices will be sent out week commencing Monday 18 March with an acceptance deadline of Wednesday 17 April 2024. This is also the deadline for Princethorpe Year 11 pupils to notify us by if they do not plan to return for Sixth Form to meet our Terms and Conditions.

A range of Sixth Form scholarships are available, from Academic to Art, Drama, Music (including Organ) and Sports Scholarships, click here to visit the relevant page on our website.

Once actual GCSE grades have been advised to the Registrar by telephone in August, a confirmed offer will be made.

FAQs

FAQs

Registrar, Mrs Catherine Rogers and Assistant Registrar, Mrs Marie Holt, deal with many enquiries from prospective parents, here are a few of the most frequently asked questions about the admissions process, with their responses.

If you have a query that isn't covered here, please feel free to contact Catherine or Marie on 01926 634201/297. You can also attend our Online Parents' Admissions Q & A Session on Monday 11 September from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. See Events section for details.

How are places offered?

Places are considered based on the results from the entrance examinations, the confidential reference which the College requests from the candidate's current school and any other information which is contained on the registration form. The Admissions Panel looks at each individual application at length before a decision is made regarding the offer of a place. The decision making process runs over three days.

How many places are offered each year?

The cohort each year is different in number and ability so it depends upon the examination results and the references from the current school. We usually offer slightly more places than we have space for because we recognise that some children may take entrance examinations for more than one school and some live in areas which still operate the 11+ examination.

What is assessed during the entrance examinations?

Pupils for entry into Year 7 will take papers in Mathematics and English (1 hour each) and a 50 minute online assessment (CEM test) which will cover verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning and numerical reasoning. There will also be a 45 minute Free Writing paper which will ask them to write something about themselves.

How can I prepare my child for the exams?

There is no one way to best prepare your child, but we recommend they read widely, look up words they do not understand, use their imagination in their writing, practice their number skills (including times tables) and play word and number games.

As a general rule on the paper tests, advise your son/daughter to answer the easy questions first on the paper and then go back and work on the trickier ones. Practice at timing themselves while they are working is important too, as they often run out of time. None of the questions on any of the papers need to be answered in order. If the child thinks a question is difficult, they should leave it and go onto the next one and then go back and try again if there is enough time. Please encourage your child to just try their best and to show any working out, as some marks might be awarded even if the answer is incorrect.

A copy of a past English paper is included in the prospectus pack and is available to download from our website here. We do not provide Mathematics practice papers.

There is a sample CEM test available here. Note – for the best experience please use Microsoft Edge or Chrome on a computer or laptop, rather than a tablet or mobile phone. The software works better on these platforms and also the children need to be confident to use a mouse to navigate and select their answers.

  • Bond How to do 11+ Maths published by Oxford University Press (ISBN 978-0192776167)

They can be ordered online.

How many scholarships are offered each year?

Every year there is a high level of interest in Scholarships and for 2024 we have expanded the number of categories available for particularly able or talented candidates.

The scholarships available range from Academic, Art and Performing Arts (Choral, Drama, Music, Musical Theatre including Dance) to Sport.

In addition, exceptional candidates who are both academically able and gifted and talented across a number of areas may be considered for an All-Rounder Scholarship, which would be awarded at the discretion of the Headmaster.

The number of scholarships offered each year depends on the funds allocated by the trustees and is limited. Academic scholarships can be to a maximum reduction of 50% of tuition fees, however the majority are between 5% and 20%, and are awarded at point of entry. More than one scholarship can be applied for.

Do you take children with a Special Educational Need or Disability and are they entitled to access arrangements in the exam?

If your child has a special educational need or disability (SEND)*, please indicate this on the registration form and provide supporting documentation, see below.

*Cognition and learning, e.g. dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyspraxia, SEMH – social, emotional and mental health, Communication and interaction, e.g. Autism Spectrum, speech, language communication needs or Physical, medical, sensory impairment or mobility.

Children with a special educational need or disability will be considered for access arrangements in the entrance examinations. Any access arrangements granted will be based on the child's normal way of working in their current educational environment, for which evidence will be required.

Following receipt of a registration form from any candidate with a learning need, the registration form and all supporting documents (including for example, Personal Learning Plan/Pupil Passport/One Page Profile (PLP), Individualised Education Plan (IEP), Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP), Educational Psychologist Report, SEND Specialist Assessment Report, Autism Diagnosis Report, Medical Report or Therapist Report) will be reviewed by a panel of experts from our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Team.

The Team will decide upon any appropriate access arrangements for the Entrance Exams based on the evidence provided and the candidate’s normal way of working.

In more complex cases or if the Team has specific questions, a meeting with one of our SEND Team will be arranged by the Registrars. Please ensure the Registrars receive your registration in good time, to enable this important review to take place.

Parents will be notified prior to the Entrance Examinations Day of the nature of any access arrangements granted or reasonable adjustments to be made.

How are the children put in the new form groups?

At Princethorpe new pupils to the school will join an existing house tutor group comprising pupils from Years 7 to 11. They will stay with this 'family' and form tutor up until Year 11. The Sixth Form have form tutor groups which consist of either Lower or Upper Sixth students.

The Y7 to Y11 house tutor groups have approximately the same number of children from every year group, a mix of girls and boys and ability.

What sizes are the classes at Princethorpe?

The maximum class size is 24 but are often fewer, at around 20-22 pupils. Design and Technology groups tend to be even smaller, normally around 14-16. Maths and English sets vary according to need – pupils in lower sets will be in slightly smaller groups – usually around 16 or 17.  Students in top sets work very well in slightly larger groups, up to 23/24.

How are the children allocated to a House?

Houses are allocated by the Deputy Head - Pastoral. Where there is an existing connection with the school, pupils usually go into the same house as a sibling or the same house if the parent is an Old Princethorpian. Otherwise the houses are allocated to ensure that the boys and girls are evenly distributed across all four houses.

Will my child get lost when they come to Princethorpe?

Princethorpe has an excellent induction programme that is offered in two separate ways. We have an Induction Day in June for all new pupils when they spend a day in class and get to meet their Head of House, their form tutor and other members of the Princethorpe community. We also have a Year 7 Activity Day which takes place at the end of the summer holidays. This is a fun day with all the new Year 7 children taking part in games, treasure hunts and activities in and out of the classroom. This is another opportunity to find their way around and meet more staff and children in their House just before they begin school, in September.

How do we find out what is happening at school?

The College has a bi-weekly electronic newsletter, The Flagpole, that includes news articles, events, important information and advice. We start sending it to new parents towards the end of the summer term and it is the best place to find out what is happening in school. You will also find a wealth of information on My School Portal, which you will be introduced to when you receive your Joining Pack.

Do you offer before and after school care?

The school is open from 7.30am each day with breakfast available in the Sixth Form Centre for early birds. Period 1 and registration is at 8.40am. School finishes at 3.45pm with buses departing at 3.55pm. Princethorpe Prep, our supervised Homework Club, is available for pupils until 6.00pm.

What extra charges, apart from the school fees are there likely to be?

When your child first joins Princethorpe there will be the cost of the school uniform and the annual pack of exercise books. All text books are loaned to the child and there is no charge unless one is lost or badly damaged. There are school trips, usually for each year group and these are always connected to the curriculum. Children will need to buy food from the Refectory or bring a packed lunch. We use a fingerprint system so money does not need to be brought into school. Princethorpe takes great care to ensure that costs are kept to a minimum and are always good value.

1:1 Digital Device Scheme And BYOD

At Princethorpe College, we aim to provide a caring, stimulating environment in which children’s individual needs can be met and their talents, confidence and self-esteem developed.

Fundamental to this is allowing children to be independent, organised, collaborative and inquisitive learners, who are ready to flourish both at the College and beyond it. Effective use of digital tools is key to this in the modern world, and as a school, we adopt a blended learning approach which allows children to develop their literacy in both the digital and analogue realms.

Key to this is access to the digital tools that allow this blended learning approach to flourish and allow for engaging, interactive and stimulating learning opportunities both in and out of the classroom. By ensuring that all Princethorpe College pupils have access to an appropriate digital device both in the classroom and beyond the classroom, we can provide a seamless learning experience which promotes and develops the 21st century skills that the children need while also allowing for the best possible learning experience in the here and now.

All pupils at Princethorpe College use a device at school every day. In the current Years 7-13 we allow the use of any suitable device through BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) and we also run the Digital Device Scheme. This allows parents to rent or purchase a Surface Go 3 device through our partner, Easy4U (Class Technology Solutions), including a device assurance package.

All incoming cohorts from September 2024 will exclusively use the Digital Device Scheme to rent or purchase a Surface Go 3, allowing us to provide true 1:1 device use and phase out BYOD over the coming years. This will help ensure that all pupils have a device that both meets all of their classroom needs, is consistent with the devices of their peers and in insured against any damage or theft. The Digital Device Scheme is launched to new Year 7 pupils in the Michaelmas term and devices are distributed before Christmas, ready to use from the start of the Lent Term of Year 7. Pupils in all year groups can also make use of the Digital Device Scheme.
